When on a roadtrip there must be at least one rule. On this trip, it has to do with my personal savior, the Ipod, which also died and was resurrected.
The rule is that when the Ipod is in shuffle, I cannont skip past a song. This has been good. For example, when Part II (15+ mins) of Lou Reed’s Metal Machine Music came on after The Staples Singers Swing Low Sweet Chariot, my impulse (even though I love this album when the mood fits) was to nuke it. But soon my mood, the music and the endlessly desolate and beautiful Nevada landscape synched up for a perfect symphony.
