Super Burrito

…played a really great gig this past saturday night with Joe Rut’s Super Burrito – which adds the smokin’ fiddling of Jason Klineberg, the fat bass of Dave Jess, homemade trap drumming of Bernie Jungle and myself on electric guitar to Joe’s great songs, voice and guitar playing.

This is a group of people that simply enjoy being in the same room together and when we get to make music it is even better. The celebration of Miss Val Esway’s 40th birthday – a tex/mex theme with lots of yummy tacos and plenty of good tequila gave us just such an opportunity. After the amazing big band sound of Dan Plonsey’s, Daniel Popsicle and a rousing set by the Val Esway Cover Band, we took the stage and didn’t let go for a solid two plus hours. There were many incredible high points and several hilarious incompetent moments (tequila, people, tequila) that had Joe wondering about the split personality of this group (tequila, Joe, tequila). More Super Burrito!
